Terms of Service

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using FastClip.dev ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you disagree with any part, you may not access the Service.

2. Description of Service

FastClip.dev is a pay-as-you-go video processing tool available as a REST API and browser-based interface. Users can clip segments from YouTube videos (manually with timestamps or automatically using AI), download full videos, and extract transcripts. Clips can be exported as MP4, MP3, or GIF.

Additional features include: pinning clips for permanent storage (subject to storage quota), sharing clips via public share pages, embedding clips on external websites, and managing multiple API keys for programmatic access. All usage is funded through a prepaid account balance.

YouTube is currently the only supported source platform. Support for additional platforms may be added in the future.

FastClip.dev is primarily a video editing and processing tool. Users are responsible for ensuring all use complies with applicable copyright laws and source platform terms of service.

3. Accounts

• You must provide a valid email address to create an account
• Email verification is required before you can deposit funds or use paid features
• Browser sessions use secure session cookies for authenticated API access and may use limited browser storage for compatibility
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and API keys
• You must not share your account or API keys with others
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account

4. Payments & Billing

• FastClip.dev operates on a pay-as-you-go model. No subscriptions, no monthly fees
• New accounts receive a $5.00 free balance after email verification (one-time, cannot be withdrawn)
• Minimum deposit: $5.00
• All deposits are non-refundable. See our Refund Policy for details
• Balance is reserved (deducted) when a job starts. If the job fails, the reserved amount is automatically refunded to your balance
• You are never charged for failed clips
• Payments are processed securely via Stripe. We accept credit and debit cards

5. Pricing

We reserve the right to modify pricing with 30 days' notice. Price changes do not affect your existing balance.

6. Acceptable Use

When using FastClip.dev, you agree to the following:

You must:

• Only clip content you have the legal right to use
• Comply with the terms of service of the source platforms
• Comply with all applicable copyright laws and regulations
• Use clips for legitimate purposes (commentary, review, fair use, research, education, social media content creation)

You must not:

• Use the Service for mass or systematic downloading of copyrighted content (piracy)
• Redistribute copyrighted content without proper authorization
• Circumvent technological protection measures implemented by content owners
• Attempt to bypass rate limits, usage restrictions, or security measures
• Use automated tools to abuse the Service (exceeding normal API usage is fine)
• Resell, sublicense, or redistribute access to the Service
• Process content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, or otherwise objectionable

7. Content Responsibility & Indemnification

FastClip.dev is a content processing tool. We do not host, curate, or endorse external content.

You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the necessary rights to clip the content you submit. You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless FastClip.dev and its operators from and against all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and fees (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:

• Your use of the Service
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any rights of others (including copyright)
• Any content clipped or processed through your account

8. API Keys & Security

• API keys are shown once on creation. We cannot recover them (keys are stored hashed)
• You are responsible for keeping your API keys secure
• If you suspect a key is compromised, revoke it immediately from your dashboard
• We are not liable for unauthorized usage of your API keys
• API Reload (charging saved cards via API) is off by default. If enabled, we strongly recommend setting a reload password and/or email confirmation

9. Rate Limits & Constraints

• API rate limit: 60 requests per minute per API key
• API Reload rate limit: 10 reloads per hour per API key
• Maximum clip length: 10 minutes
• Maximum source video length for clips and AI: 3 hours (full downloads have no duration limit)
• Temporary clip/download links expire after 24 hours
• Pinned clips are stored permanently until unpinned or account deletion (subject to your storage quota)
• Exceeding rate limits returns a 429 status code. Wait and retry

10. Service Availability

• The Service is provided "as is" and "as available"
• We do not guarantee uninterrupted access to YouTube or any future supported source platform. Source platforms may block access at any time
• If a source platform blocks access, this is not a breach of these Terms
• We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time
• We reserve the right to remove support for specific platforms without notice
• Scheduled maintenance and service disruption notices will be communicated via email when possible

11. Account Termination

• You may delete your account at any time from the Settings modal
• Upon deletion, all remaining balance is forfeited. Deposits are non-refundable
• We may suspend or terminate your account immediately if you violate these Terms
• Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately
• Account data is permanently deleted upon account deletion, except transaction records retained for legal/tax compliance

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, FastClip.dev shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or use.

Our total liability for any claims under these Terms is limited to the amount you deposited in the 12 months preceding the claim.

13. DMCA & Copyright

• We respond to valid DMCA takedown notices within 48 hours
• We maintain a repeat infringer policy. Accounts with multiple valid DMCA complaints will be terminated
• To submit a DMCA takedown notice, email admin@fastclip.dev with the required information

14. Intellectual Property

The FastClip.dev Service, including its design, branding, and functionality, is our property and is protected by intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms grants you a license to use our trademarks or branding.

If you provide feedback or suggestions about the Service, you grant us an unrestricted, royalty-free license to use that feedback for any purpose.

15. General

• Governing law: These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States of America
• Disputes: Any disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration
• Severability: If any provision is held invalid, the remainder continues in full effect
• Entire agreement: These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Refund Policy, constitute the entire agreement
• Changes: We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance
